Building Information Modeling (BIM)

Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a digital representation of physical and functional characteristics of a facility.

Our 2D / 3D Expertise includes the utilization of AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks, Revit and production of engineered and coordinated models for construction in the field.

Allison-Smith Company BIM Designers utilize the most current version of Autodesk Design Suite including full dynamic modeling in Revit, AutoCAD and Navisworks. Our BIM designers are highly proficient and continue their education to stay up-to-date on the latest software advancements in the BIM world to meet our clients everyday needs. The BIM modeling process allows Allison-Smith to use the design team’s model (architects and engineers) and maintain an up-to-date model through construction, eliminating the information loss between the design and construction team. This process provides the owner a BIM they can utilize for future designs and facility maintenance. The tools we use in the BIM process help create 3D, 4D, 5D and 6D models to reduce conflicts, increase efficiency, reduce cost, and improve construction schedules. Our designers maintain two-way communication between field personnel and the design staff to provide an accurate as built BIM. As an engineering and contracting firm, we are able to evaluate models from a design, schedule, constructability, and cost standpoint to ensure maximum efficiency for our clients extending through the building life cycle.
