Job Requirements
- 5-10 years of experience as a Revit modeler/detailer working at for electrical contractor.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and work well in a team of BIM modelers on large electrical projects.
- Well versed with production of installation, prefab and electrical contractor As-built drawings.
- Ability to read and understand design construction documentation.
- Highly proficient with Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
- 5 years Prior Management experience

Responsibilities
- Participate in Factory Witness Testing of electrical equipment including Switchboards, Transformers, Diesel Generators, and Uninterruptible Power Systems.
- Managing and directing commissioning support teams.
- Review electrical commissioning plans on a variety of projects and support the CX Agent. Identify gaps in plan, resources, and ensure project is executed safely.
- Review Energization MOP (method of procedure) documents. Author and review construction MOPs for areas turned over to the client.
- Review project documentation (electrical drawings and submittals) to determine how the system should perform. Oversee commissioning activities to fit into the project schedule.
- Meet with project stakeholders to discuss commissioning activities, report on progress, and request adequate commissioning time.
- Perform risk analysis for commissioning activities – both for adjacent equipment in service and upstream equipment that may be affected by commissioning activities.
- Compile, review and submit commissioning documentation.
- Coordinate load bank testing support for other trades and CX Agent.
Education / Experience
- At least 10 years of experience in the electrical construction or engineering industry.
- Experience interfacing with design engineers, NETA testing agents, and owners’ representatives.
- Experience with medium voltage systems a plus.
- Experience with HV substations a plus (up to 230kV).
- Experience on construction projects.
- Knowledge of electrical equipment control schemes.
- Experience with Diesel Generators (600V and 15kV) a plus.
- Knowledge of electrical testing procedures and expected results a plus.

Allison-Smith is starting a new business unit and seeking a uniquely qualified engineer with both the technical acumen and people skills necessary to work collaboratively with visionary owner-engineers (our clients).
The Applications Engineer will work with Allison-Smith’s in-house engineering department, supporting sub-consultants, Allison-Smith’s estimating department, and equipment suppliers to custom design modules to our client’s applications.
Our work is heavily focused on our Fortune 100 clients and ranges from prototyped and repeated applications to very large installations and will include nationwide deployments.
This business unit is being built upon strong market demand and success in our prefabrication business division. We are in the process of expanding our manufacturing facility and investing heavily in related infrastructure to bring these products to market.
This is an excellent growth opportunity for the right candidate; on the ground floor of starting a new business within a very successful long-standing company.
Responsibilities
- The candidate will be responsible for all phases of technical client account development and management, including constructability analysis, design review estimating, scheduling, value engineering, site logistics review, fabrication planning, and purchasing.
