About BuildTime

BuildTime is an Atlanta-based B2B SaaS startup built by contractors, for contractors. Our platform simplifies time tracking, payroll, scheduling, and compliance for electrical contractors managing complex workforces across job sites. With early pilot traction and strong customer feedback, we’re scaling from product-market validation into a high-growth phase—and we’re building a team that can grow with us.

The Opportunity

We’re seeking a Head of Customer Success to lead and scale the entire customer lifecycle—from nurturing to onboarding and training to support, retention, expansion, and advocacy. You will define and execute the strategy, tools, processes, and team that will drive BuildTime’s customer experience forward. Your role will be central to ensuring our customers succeed independently through self-service and platform-based enablement while also building high-impact systems for our internal teams.

This is a high-ownership role with a mix of strategic planning and hands-on execution. You’ll work closely with product, engineering, sales, and leadership to bring clarity and structure to how we support and grow with our customers.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Onboarding & Activation

  • Design and manage a scalable onboarding framework for contractors of all sizes (self-service to enterprise)
  • Build and maintain onboarding resources including guides, walkthroughs, and playbooks
  • Reduce time-to-value and drive early product adoption metrics

Customer Lifecycle & Success Strategy

  • Define the customer journey from pilot to renewal, including key engagement and health milestones
  • Establish and maintain customer health scoring, success KPIs, and risk mitigation processes
  • Identify expansion opportunities to drive net revenue retention

Support & Knowledge Enablement

  • Select and implement tooling (e.g., Intercom, knowledge base, CRM) to support customer communications
  • Build and maintain knowledge bases, templates, and customer education materials
  • Build and manage the internal and external help center and support documentation
  • Develop and lead lightweight support processes to handle inbound requests and escalation

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Collaborate with product on customer feedback loops, roadmap planning, and feature adoption strategies
  • Partner with sales to align onboarding and handoff processes (self service to enterprise)
  • Represent the customer voice across the company and help shape BuildTime’s product experience
  • Report on lifecycle metrics and identify opportunities to improve customer success and expansion

Team & Operational Leadership

  • Define the vision for a scalable CS function; propose structure and key hires
  • Build repeatable systems and processes to enable consistency and efficiency
  • Report on customer outcomes and success metrics to executive leadership

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years experience in Customer Success, Implementation, or Customer Operations, preferably in B2B SaaS
  • Proven ability to build CS systems and teams in a startup or early-stage environment
  • Deep understanding of onboarding, lifecycle management, and SaaS health metrics
  • Experience working with diverse customer personas—from office admins to non-technical field users
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Builder mindset: proactive, resourceful, and focused on outcomes over process for process’s sake
  • Familiarity with tools like Intercom, Notion, HelpScout, Salesforce, and other CS platforms
  • Previous experience working in a startup environment or with an early-stage product.
  • Bonus: Experience in construction tech, compliance-heavy industries, or workforce/payroll platforms

Who You Are

  • Proven experience in Customer Success, Product Operations, or Implementation within a B2B SaaS startup
  • Strong understanding of customer onboarding, lifecycle engagement, and success methodologies
  • Hands-on experience selecting and implementing customer-facing tools and internal platforms
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and bring clarity and process to a dynamic startup environment
  • Strong written and verbal communicator; able to work directly with both contractors and exec teams
  • Process-oriented and data-driven—you test, measure, and improve constantly
  • Curious, empathetic, proactive, and comfortable wearing multiple hats
