Job Description.
Seeking electrical project managers to support an experienced, successful, and rapidly growing electrical contracting, engineering, and technology firm in Smyrna, GA. Our project managers are encouraged and trained to develop an entrepreneurial business approach to managing the electrical construction of a variety of commercial, retail, and industrial projects.
We take great pride in our engineering approach to the construction business, and you can expect to be involved in design-build and design-assist projects.
Responsibilities.
Jr. Project Managers will assist a senior-level PM in all phases of electrical work including project acquisition (identification, estimating strategy, cost/proposal development, negotiation, value engineering, site logistics review, pre-fabrication planning), project preconstruction (team development, planning, procurement), project construction (scheduling, team/relationship building, change management, issue resolution, cost projections, billing), and project close-out (final documentation, owner training, contract reconciliation, final billing).
Task Percentage of time spent on duty:
Project Acquisition 30%
Project Preconstruction 20%
Project Construction 40%
Project Close-Out 10%
Qualifications.
- Qualifying Bachelor of Engineering Degrees: EE, ME, Industrial, Civil or Architect, Construction Management, or Computer Science.
- Strong business acumen in project planning and management
- Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills
Travel.

Requirements:
- Electrical field and service experience in a construction and customer occupied environment

Responsibilities:
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes
- Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous
- Maintain current electrician’s license or identification card to meet governmental regulations
- General electrical installations of all types. Intent is for the service technician to perform work on their own a significant amount of the time.
- Ability to safely operate and manage a company owned service vehicle and tools.
- Ability to be flexible in schedule. 40 hours would be the minimum.
- Managing material procurement for individual projects.
- Managing relationships with other subcontractors, customers, and general contractor
- Planning and coordination of additional labor if needed.
- Scheduling and coordinating electrical construction activities based on reviewing and evaluating available documents
- Assist and direct crews working on project in the use of equipment in a safe and proper manner, improving job performance, controlling cost, quality of work, productivity, and improving communications.
